What if…

Hey there, Patrick James here, your friendly car fanatic… and I’ve been staring at the sign in the gas station: Florida Mega Millions $311 Million. And it got me thinking “if I won, I’d buy smart cars” — no wait – not SMARTcars those things a squirrel would drive. Cars that a financially smart person would buy.

This is of course a big dream because at $60k I’m a lifetime away from touching any of these cars.

But if I had $311 Million, I’d first want to do a total Scrooge McDuck dive into a room of money — but after that, I’d start collecting cars. (And finding some awesome garage space to keep them pristine).

I think I’d like to start with an SUV because let’s be real, I’m still going to be hauling Lindsay’s finds home… and an SUV would help make that a hell of a lot easier.

#1 on the list is the BMW XM

This isn’t your granddad’s SUV. It’s a hybrid beast with a V8 heart and an electric soul, all wrapped up in a package that screams “the future is here.” With 670 horsepower at your beckon call, this machine probably makes zero to 60 feel like teleporting.

Black and red isn’t really smart in Miami heat and sun, but that’s a sexy combination. I’ve been following the hybrid journey for BMW and feel like this would be a powerful machine. Not a hamster needing motivation to trot faster to make the wheels go. (Prius I’m looking at you.)

It looks like someone was thinking though since they offer the cooled seats. And heated seats (Lindsay would be happy with that — she’s always complaining stating she is cold.) (Can you see my editor at work?)

My mom would probably appreciate that the rear AC and heat too. Coming here from Chagrin, Ohio, she’s always uncomfortable with the humidity and is always having me change the air.

And conveniently, I’d only have to drive up to Ft. Lauderdale to pick up one of these beauties.

Clocking in at $170k this is an “everyday driver” option.

#2 on my list would be The 2024 Bentley Continental GT V8 Convertible

This one is just sexy. A V8, because — well power critical to car happiness. Looking over their features I think the most notable for me would be the auto-leveling suspension and the perimeter approach lights.

And I’m sure the exterior front, back, left, and right cameras would help keep Lindsay from curbing when she parallel parks. That might also just be a hopeless cause.

At $350k this one is definitely a huge investment (even if you win the lotto) but it’s a Bentley. As they say, “you get what you pay for.”

#3 Goes to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan

Here we go. SUV and Luxury. $500k ooomph…

The white exterior with red seats is WOW. Just WOW. (This is Lindsay’s favorite – big surprise amirite?)

This one is a V12. If they didn’t have to run a credit check on me I’d totally drive over to them to see this beauty in person.

Oh and it gets 12 mpg in city and 19 mpg on the highway for a combined 14 mpg.

563 hp with 627 lb-ft torque. This car is just magnificent.

HEADLINES – CRAP.

AREN’T THOSE CARS BEAUTIFUL?!

But seriously. If I win the lotto, I know where my first 3 stops are going to be. Wish me luck!

Do you play lotto? Scratchers?

What would you want to get?

Stay tuned up,

Patrick James
